Principal and leader of the Environmental, Health & Safety Group with Giffin Koerth Forensic Engineering

Matthew brings over 12 years of experience in chemical and materials engineering as a consulting forensic, environmental and health & safety expert.  His strengths in the management of hazardous materials, chemical agents and environmental contamination include designated substance (lead, asbestos, etc.) management, health & safety planning (HASP) and pre-start design reviews (PSR), contaminated site assessment, abatement and remediation, indoor air quality and occupational exposures to chemical and biological agents, construction health & safety and confined spaces.  Mr. Allen also received his Masters of Chemical Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada and has served as a commissioned Naval Officer.  He has also qualified and testified as an Expert Witness for Environmental, Health & Safety matters in the Ontario Courts and served as an advisor to the Insurance Bureau of Canada on mould.  Matthew has spoken and published on various topics ranging from the management of hazardous materials in demolition, to risk & liability management, forensic engineering techniques and pollution prevention in the industry.
